Welcome to Swarthdale

Swarthdale stands on Rake Lane on the edge of Ulverston, in the south of Cumbria. The whole home sits on one level, which makes a real difference to people who find stairs difficult, and it was refurbished throughout in 2019.

The home provides nursing, residential and dementia care, including care for older people living with mental health needs, alongside respite stays and palliative and end of life care.

Accommodation is arranged as 37 single rooms and three companion rooms, so couples, siblings or long-standing friends do not have to be separated. Visiting is open, and visitors are welcome to eat with their relative at mealtimes.

Couples need not separate

Three companion rooms are set aside for people who want to carry on living together.
